Mystery Solved! Ephesians 1:7-10 (NIV)
Ephesians 1:7-10 (NIV)
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.
In Him… "the One He loves" (v6)… the One He loves – greatest title ever. In Him… His blood… redemption… forgiveness of sins. Through the ultimate price God made the ultimate purchase: endless grace.
With the ultimate cost, His Son’s life, He made the ultimate purchase. He didn’t just wish for 3 more wishes, He wished for endless wishes. Endless wishes in the form of endless grace. He has riches upon riches of grace and He loves to share them freely with us!
His full plan won’t be finished until the end. The end when all things are unified and united in unity. When all of everything is under Christ – the great beloved leader. As the glorious leader, creator, shepherd and groom to us all. All things will be right. Hard to imagine or describe. But how will it happen? Mystery.
The mystery made known to us. What mystery? The great riddle of all time. From the beginning and before, He had a plan to bring unity someday. The clues are all throughout creation in general and His word specifically. His prophets seemed to almost give it away. They had to know, right? Looking back, it seems so obvious. The Passover Lamb who dies for our sins. Like a sheep led to the slaughter. Oppressed and afflicted but He does not open His mouth. Once you know, it seems so clear.
But a complete mystery the whole time. But for those who have eyes, let them see. The mystery revealed. Old treasure and new. Behold the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world. The mystery made known to us (and us known by Him) in wisdom and understanding according to His good pleasure. Jesus the suffering servant who will unite.
