Kids and God

sunday-half-past-ten-a-m-1215934-mI’ve said it before and I think it more often: I think our relationship with our kids is a lot like God’s relationship to us.

So today specifically I was thinking what would I want to hear my kids say? That’s probably a lot like what God might want to hear from us…

  • let’s hang out
  • what do you want to do?
  • I love to…
  • I want to be like you.

The list goes on, but you get the idea. And of course the reverse is true too – things I think about my kids God probably things about me…

  • what do you love to do?
  • what do you want to be when you grow up?
  • let’s hang out
  • I love to hear you laugh.
  • I love to see you get along with your brother.
  • It hurts to see you sad.
  • Don’t worry.

I’m not the most patient person, but I really should remember how much He puts up with me. I’m much worse than my kids. 🙂
