Everything Must Go – Key Verses – Galatians (NIV)
6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Something about this verse – it’s very direct and bold. God cannot be mocked. Don’t fool yourself. No one is "getting away" with anything. He sees what everyone is doing and knows their heart.
The people that look like they are getting away with it… nope. The people who are suffering for God and have no one comforting them… nope. It’s just not here yet. Few things work in the timing we want or even, on the level of this life, need. But, God cannot be mocked.
I remember in college a friend got a credit card and started charging things. He called it "free money." Enough said.
At the end of this life, I believe I’d rather have sown good without reaping what I’m "due" more than having sown from the flesh regardless of outcome.
Matthew 13:44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."
"In his joy" – he was happy to sell ALL to gain this treasure. That’s some treasure when you’re happy to sell everything you have to get it… and that’s what we have!
