Akeelah and the Bee (2006) – 3/5
A bit sentimental, but good and enjoyable. A good simple story w/ deep characters and a good message that’s doesn’t hit you over the head w/ (too many) stereotypes and generalizations.
It’s a good light version of many movies that maybe try too hard.
