Deuteronomy 15:4, 16:17 – No Poor People

15:4 “…there will be no poor among you…”

It’s not a promise, but something to obey. Don’t take advantage of the poor. Help them out.

It’s a command… a loving command… it cd be you that needs help. They all needed help coming out of Egypt and they need to remember that.

However, it’s a command b/c we probably wdn’t do it otherwise. Unfortunately, we fail at this and the gov’t tends to step in. Not to get political – but morality sd be led by the church, not the gov’t in that we sd be doing a better job of it and people look to the church to fill these needs and not laws.

Also, v16:17 “Every man shall give as he is able…”

All can come to Him. There’s no minimum charge for God. You can’t be denied b/c of a costs.
