Deuteronomy 28:15- Obey or Pay

Chapter 28 lists out some great blessings for the people if they obey – basically, everything will be great.

But if they don’t, basically those same things will be bad… very bad. Really, really bad.

What occurred to me is that when you’re obeying and in fellowship w/ God, everything is fine… even if it isn’t. Paul was fine in prison – He had God.

But when you are far from Him, everything seems bad regardless of the material things. I always remember one time when I had everything I wanted (at the time) – I remember thinking “I have a guitar, a car,… why am I miserable?” It was b/c I was far from God. It didn’t matter what I had if I didn’t have a good relationship with Him.
